A Scottish man came from all the way from Scotland to teach us about his culture, such as traditional dances and stories. David Vivanco held a workshop for 3rd-year ESO students and 1st Batxillerat high school students. He brought typical items from his country, he told us stories and taught us how to dance traditional Scottish dances from there. This event took place on March 12th and 13th, 2026, at Institut Pere Borrell, specifically in the assembly hall. David Vivanco has been organising and carrying out these workshops in high schools for 17 years because he wants to share Scottish culture and traditions with other countries like ours.
He explained and showed us many typical dances from there. First, he explained the steps, and then we danced all together. We learned many different dances.
An irrelevant but funny piece of information is that the teachers came to dance with us since there were not so many people. It was very funny because it was not normal. Also, David explained to us a short story about how schools used to be in the past and he also provided us with information about Scotland and its flag.
In conclusion, this workshop was both educational and entertaining. We learned a lot about Scottish culture, traditions and dances while having fun with our classmates and teachers.
